Based on the studies of my sixth and seventh-grade years, I decided that doing gymnastics was a worthwhile pursuit, so this year, I decided to take part in the sport. Although it was tough catching up at first to girls who had been doing gymnastics for the past several years, I pushed through and finished the season competing on beam and practicing vault.
We had five meets so in our season and we finished with a record of 2-3. (One of the ones we lost didn't count though, so technically 2-2.) We were second in the district (we only ever lost to Baker, and all our meets against them were away meets).
Anyways, I have improved steadily over the season. At my first meet, I got a 4.5 on beam, my next a 5.0, my next a 6.8, my next an 8.45, and finally a 7.4. (Yes, I know that's not better. I landed my cartwheel and then didn't, and one was a home meet and one wasn't, and one judge was nicer. And I missed practice for half of the last week.) But, I finally landed my cartwheel on the beam at my second-to-last meet. Woohoo!
